I grew up in Northern California (San Francisco Bay Area). I moved to Utah for college, graduated in Elementary Ed and taught school for 10 years. When my husband and I adopted our son, I retired from teaching and became a realtor. We moved to St George, UT in 2016, near 24 pickleball courts. I wanted to try it, but was clueless. I bought wood paddles and indoor balls and went to play pickleball…LOL! My husband got in a terrible burn accident in June of 2017. After 42 days in the burn unit, he spent 11 days in the Rehab center. Philip Lamoreaux was his OT. Phil invited us to play pickleball. That’s when I learned how to play competitively and got hooked. My husband likes it but isn’t interested in playing competitively. Phil invited me to play in a few tournaments with him. I am continually striving to learn and improve my game. I absolutely love pickleball! I play 4 to 5 days a week. I got my PPR certification in 2019 so I could teach others how to play. I’m so grateful for the pickleball community I’m a part of.
