Live where you play!?!?

I’m curious how many pickleball players have ever thought about living in a neighborhood that has its own private courts.

I’m a Realtor on Florida’s Gulf Coast. A home I’m helping sell is in a gated community here in Panama City that actually has a private pickleball court tucked into the neighborhood. With the sport exploding it suddenly feels like a pretty big lifestyle perk.

It got me wondering how many people would actually choose a home based on something like that — being able to walk over for a quick game instead of driving across town to find open courts.

For those of you who play regularly, would living next to a court be a dream scenario… do you think you’d play more if the court was within walking distance of your home? Would you still drive to other courts to play with other people or try to build your own pickleball community within your neighborhood? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Curious to hear what others think.

  1. I already DO live where I play. (We built our court three years ago.)
  2. Yes. I’ve been helping friends narrow-down their retirement location … by also focusing on neigborhoods / complexes with proximity to multiple pickleball courts.
