What is the governing body in pickleball that controls players ranking or is it all self rating. How do players officially move up in rank. If someone says they are a 4.5 player is there a way to confirm it besides watching them play.
There are a few organizations that do “official” rankings, they work similarly to ELO in chess. DUPR is one of the main ones, you can play in tournaments where they log the match results along with the score of each player. If you win against players with a higher DUPR rating, yours goes up more than if you win against opponents with a lower rating.
