Pickleball Sound Mitigation - A True Lawsuit Account

Looking for suggestions to mitigate sound. One man purchased his home in our neighborhood with pickleball courts already established that butted up against his backyard. He bought the house to flip it. He purchased the house sight unseen, paid 100K over asking, decorated in an eclectic style…He admittedly stated he did not do his due diligence, sued the HOA AND WON! He bribed his neighbor who had standing to sue, he did not have standing. The neighbor who lived next door lived there prior to the courts being built, but she did knowingly move behind an HOA community with pool, tennis court, and club house. So with regards to the lawsuit she had standing.

Prior to pb courts being installed, the HOA had meetings asking the residents for their input. She did not show up at any of the HOA meetings to vote against the construction of the pb courts.

Not only are we moving our pickleball courts, we cannot play on Sunday, we now start at 9 instead of 8, which in Florida that is a significant time change. The HOA intends to put multiple layers of wind screens to mitigate the sound, which now we’ll be playing in a sauna with no breeze able to pass thru. Three courts, we played from 8-11 and all because this one man made a horrible business investment…The Sarasota court did not allow the case into court because they felt it was too insignificant for them to hear, so stupidly we went to mitigation.
WE PAID THE PLAINTIFFS ALMOST 50K for pain and suffering and reimbursed him for his attorney fees. YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS STUFF UP.
