I really like what @PickleballPhil said here
Because when I get into tournament matches I don’t have to focus SO much mental energy on playing because I can let the muscle memory and trained intuition take over. After trying to remove all of that from the table I focus on two big things that I wrote on my paddle:

Just as @asktiffnow said: “take deep breaths.” It’s crazy what a deep breath can do in the heat of a battle. Calms the nerves and settles the mind. -
This comes next and has seriously helped set the tone of my play for the last little while. It says “BQDH”. It’s short for the John Wooden quote"
