When your partner makes an out call and you didn't see the ball land

My partner called the ball out but I couldn’t see where the ball landed. Our opponents said the ball must be in because there was doubt since I couldn’t confirm the call. Is that true?

Your opponents are incorrect. You not seeing what your partner DID see doesn’t constitute doubt.

Here’s the rule on doubt. Since you and your partner did not disagree … it’s not doubt.

“6.C.8. In doubles play, if one player calls the ball “out”
and the partner calls it “in,” then doubt exists and
the team’s call will be “in.” Any player may appeal
the team’s call to the referee or defer a line call to
their opponent up until the next serve occurs. If
the referee or opponent did not see the ball, the
ball is considered in.”
